Weekly horror anthology.
At first it was a reprint of various American (Gold Key et al) and British stories (Fleetway at al) and later the original content increased until it took nearly completely over.
Most of the artwork was provided by Spanish and later also Yugoslavian artists (such as Goran Sudzuka) as well as German artists on rare occasions.
Some issues also reprinted French material, 2 issues were dedicated to classic horror stories from Marvel and several further issues reprinted non-Marvel material by Steve Ditko.
On the height of its success the series spawned various spin-offs (an album series, a pocket book series, a magazine reprint etc.) and accompanying titles (Spuk Geschichenn, Geister Geschichten, Vanessa).
Due to declining sales the last issue to feature all-new material was #1198.
After this new material only appeared when they were serializing adaptations of their various "pulp" franchises (John Sinclair, Vampira, Maddrax).
The "all-reprint" status was acknowled on the cover with the disclaimer "Neuauflage" ("Reprint") starting with issue #1211 which was later changed to "Classics".
The series was finally canceled in 2006 after 1654 issues.
The series was then briefly re-activated from 2008-2009 for 3 issues by Tigerpress.
