Superman's Christmas Adventure   (1940)
Search for 'Superman's Christmas Adventure' on eBay

Publisher: DC Comics

Publication Date: 1940

Country: United States

Language: English

Promotional one-shot given away at Macy's, Nehi Drinks, Molan's Bakery, Bailey's Store, Ivey-Keith Co., Kennedy's Boys Shop, The Outlet Happyland, Robertson's All-American Toyland, Skippy Peanut Butter, John A. Brown Co., and Boston Store. Other editions probably exist.

There are two variations in the cover artwork amongst the various editions. The front cover of one of the variants has Superman and Santa Claus landing on a rooftop, while it's back cover is a reprint of the cover artwork to Superman (1939) #6 by Joe Shuster & Paul Cassidy with Superman standing with his hands at his hips. The second variant artwork and perhaps the scarcer of the two features Superman, Santa and several children around a Christmas tree, while its back cover features a framed picture of Superman with his arms crossed, and the picture is signed, "Sincerely, Clark Kent". The second variant may be limited to a 1944 reprint of the first edition. The first variant is known to have been used for editions of both the 1940 release, and the 1944 reprint.
