The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl   (1982)
Search for 'The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl' on eBay

Publisher: DC Comics

Publication Date: November 1982 - September 1984

Country: United States

Language: English

Notes:
Think of this, simply, as the "movie-era" Supergirl.

Sometimes indexed in as a single volume, comprising all 23 issues, sometimes split into two titles (The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl for issues 1-13, and just Supergirl, vol. 2, for issues 14-22). Issue #13's indicia is still titled The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl despite the change in cover title to Supergirl.

Probably the best way to look at all 23 issues, though, is that they are a single run interrupted by the release of a major motion picture featuring the lead character. Consequently, the name change has less to do with a choice on the part of the creative team, and much more to do with an edict handed down by the marketing department. As the name and logo changes to directly evoke that used on the Helen Slater Supergirl film, and the numbering and creative team remain intact throughout, we'll index it here for what it is: DC's second attempt at a Supergirl title.
